So I have been having a pretty rotten week, and I needed something to cheer myself up, SO I painted my nails Revlon’s Temptress (which I got for 75% off) and the because the pretty pink cream was a little to meh for me I put Revlon’s Angelic on top (got at the same time as Temptress and the sale was buy 1 get one 50% so both were on sale!! So I ended up with an almost Perfect Barbie Pink to make me smile!

To have finally unwound a little by Watching a Yoga dvd, (not really doing just watching) To want to spend my tax refund and school refund on myself but know it is selfish of me. To have only had 1 soda this week and be proud of it! To still not really understand twitter To have checked several things off my 101 in 1001 list. To be a little behind on Project 365 because of the depressed week. To have run 3 times this week as stress relief. To once again have a broken car, and a fridge that isn’t working… Oh wait NOT OKAY! Part 1 done! Okay 11 things about me…

1. I just decided that I was going to start running, I’ve only been once and I actually enjoyed it.

2. I love to read, if given the choice to do anything in the world or read a good book, I would pick the book every time.

3. I want to be able to wear the size clothes I wore freshman year of high school again. The only reason I am not is because I am lazy, so I am hoping to fix that.

4. I was introduced in class this semester as “The girl who must REALLY love her boyfriend, she’s been with him 10 years.” I thought it was kind of cute that that’s what my partner picked up on.

5. I always hold my breath when I drive through tunnels, When I was a kid we used to drive through them to visit family when we lived in Ohio and after we moved to SC and if you could hold your breath until the end you got a wish. I’ve only ever made it one time.

6. I usually have a “pause” button on my dreams, if I am sleeping and wake up I can generally stay awake for an hour and when I go back to sleep my dream was paused the whole time, only bad when it’s a nightmare.

7. I wanted to be Belle, Ariel, Aurora, and Esmeralda when I grew up.

8. I get a pit in my stomach when my work calls, because I am always scared I did something wrong.

9. I never got the hang of the newer video games, I played Mario, Sonic and even Pokémon, but the newest game I will play is Plants Vs. Zombies

10. I am scared to death of Zombies.

11. I cannot watch any form of a horror movie. The closest I will get is crime shows on TV. Any form of horror/scary movie terrifies me.

Martha’s Questions For Me:

1. If you could go back in time to your 16-year-old self and tell them one thing about what to expect from the future, what would it be and why?

I would tell myself to expect and embrace change, I tried for so long to not let anything change and I really should have just gone with it, I would have had more fun.

2. What song creates the strongest memory for you and why that song?

This is actually VERY hard for me because I am a very auditory person, I am going to go with a song from Sesame Street, my Papa used to sing it to me when it was on the TV.

3. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would purchase?

First? I would pay off my debts, but my first purchase would be a house, or a new car.

4. What age has been your favorite age to be? Why?

I miss being 22 honestly, I just feel like I had more fun then.

5. Would you want to go back and be that age again?

No, just because I do want to see where my life leads me.

6. Do you have a favorite outfit? What is it?

Not an exact outfit, but I love jeans and cotton polo's, but If I could I’d dress in 50’s dresses all the time!

7. What do you think is the most overrated product for women out on the market right now?

I think that all the Botox yourself products are a waste of money and just to make people feel bad about themselves.

8. What’s your favorite perfume?

I love Victoria Secret’s Angel Devine.

9. If you could afford a summer house and a winter house anywhere in the U.S., where would they be?

oooohhhh…. Summer house? It would be ON the beach, Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head I think, I mean literally walk out your door and into the ocean on the beach! and for winter? I would love to have a house anywhere that gets copious amounts of snow! Besides if I had enough money for the houses I wouldn’t need to worry about going to work!

10. What’s your favorite recipe?

I love to make from scratch Chicken Parmesan.

11. What made you decide to start a blog?

I just wanted somewhere to empty out the thoughts in my head.

1. IF you had only 24 hours to live, what would you do?

I would say goodbye to all of my family, and I would spend the rest of the time with Kensei.

3 Years Old…

It’s hard to believe that my blog is 3 years old today. I would like to think that I’ve grown up a lot in the last 3 years. I know that I have made some amazing friends through this and other blogs, and I have learned that expressing my feelings is something that I have to do.

I recently read my first ever post again. I think that my writing have developed and grown a lot over the years, But not much has changed in my life it seems, I still work a lot, although for a different job, same type. I am still in school, I am still friends with M, Eri, and Piper. I still need to move to Memphis with Kensei.

I just wanted to acknowledge that this blog is growing up with me and hopefully by this time next year I will have a lot more changes to account for!

So I am debating as I type this, I was making dinner tonight and stabbed my index finger with a knife, it went in but didn't like sever anything (that I know of). I have from the time it happened placed two band-aids, and one piece of gauze and tape, I bled through the band-aids but the gauze and tape seem to be applying enough pressure to where I'm not bleeding as much and it seems to be slowing down. I am hoping that I will not need to go to the ER or to Doctor's Care. Going to wait until my dad gets home to look at it to decide or if it doesn't stop bleeding.... Just when I think I'm safe...

Back To Class

Today is the first day of the last semester at the technical college I am attending. I will be hopefully attending a university starting fall semester, preferably in Memphis.

I had a great start to the first day of classes. I got stuck in an elevator for 20 mins. I had to park at the top of the parking garage so I got in the elevator, and this girl joined me when we got down to level 4. We hit ground level and the elevator just stopped, all the lights went off and the door's wouldn't open and she had a melt down, I was standing there reaching for the service phone when she went off on all the ways we were going to die, from the elevator crashing (again we were on the ground floor) or the possibility that zombies had taken over and that was why the elevator was stopped.

I called security and we were let out in 20 mins, but that was a wonderful way to start the day. By the way she wouldn't calm down, even after they opened the doors and we got out she was still freaking out.

The rest of my day went pretty peacefully, seems like at least on Mondays and Wensday's I'll have good professors and interesting classes.

So I have so health goals I need to meet this year particularly before my big move to Memphis.
I decided to like up with

I am most definitely at my heaviest, and not happy with it at all. I plan of trying to consume more fruits and veggies, and more water, Right now I am aiming at 3 glasses a day with only one bottle of coke (which is honestly huge for me I honestly drink between 4-8 bottles a day which I know is bad.) and at least 3 glasses of tea.
I know that if I have someone to be accountable to I am more likely to actually go through with it!

So I am at work today and I figured with it being just 2 days until Christmas and 3 days until Christmas day I needed to link up with "It's Okay" So here goes!

It's okay...

To be thrilled that I get 5 days off in a row after I leave work tomorrow.

To be looking forward to cooking dinner after work today.

To be considering actually going to Midnight Mass this year, I always say I'll go and then when it's time I don't,

To not be holding my breath on that last one although I do want to go.

To be actually really upset that it is a balmy 78 degrees outside. I WANT SNOW!

Need A Change

I need a change I have just been feeling so Blah lately I figured that it was time to change something So I am dying my hair. Its been it’s natural dark brown for almost 6 months now, and I’m feeling red, so Hopefully it won’t turn out horrible. I will update with a picture when I am done!

I wish it had turned out a little redder I might have to redo it a few times to get the color I want.

Girl's Night

SO I had a girls night, I don’t get to see M and Eri as much as I’d like, especially together. So when M and I went to see Twilight and realised we weren’t tired after the movie we called Eri and all went over to my house for some wine and cheese and lots of talking. No one left until after 5 am.

This was our damage after the night.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Both, I love some Egg Nog, but I definitely LOVE me some hot coco too!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa’s gifts were always in a different wrapping paper with fancy tags that had pretty cursive writing on them

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
White lights on the tree and colored on the house, although with the house we’re in now we don’t have outside plugs so no outside lights

4. Do you hang mistletoe?

If I had someone to kiss I would, but I’ve never been in a house on Christmas with a kissing person.

5. When do you put your decorations up?
The day after Thanksgiving.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
I make a lasagna for Christmas Eve dinner, it’s a tradition from my Nana.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?

My Grandmother and Papa used to watch White Christmas with me every Christmas Eve. I would dance around the house with my Papa and then we would make Lasagna with my Nana and sing along to Frank Sinatra and other great Christmas albums

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I learned the truth when I was around 11 years old, (I know, but I was stubborn and wanted to believe, I still kinda do, not that he gives toys, but the general holiday everyone is Santa kind of thing.) I saw my dad put the “Santa” presents under the tree.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
No, and I never understood that tradition.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?

I use lots of old family ornaments, and every year my dad gets me one for my ‘hope chest’ so I will have my own stash for when I move out/ get married.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it?

LOVE IT. I pray for it, beg for it, bargain for it, but never get it on Christmas. I grew up in NY and OH so I was used to snow but since moving to sunny SC I’ve not had it on Christmas.

12. Can you ice skate?

Yes, although its been so long that I will probably look like I can’t.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?

No... I know I loved everything but I can’t remember a specific present.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Spending time with people I love and want to be with.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?

Christmas Cookies, especially the ones, my Grandma on my dad’s side used to make, Sour Cream Cookies…

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Just sitting around the tree Christmas morning, and spending time together Christmas eve.

An Angel. but I’d love a little Tardis for the top!

I prefer giving. but I always to go overboard, and give things to EVERYONE.

Okay I had so much fun doing this last year that I figured I would again this year. First off I want to say I was a horrible blogger this year, not very active at all… I will do my best to fix that next year!

SO gosh where have I been lately? Honestly I’m not sure, I’ve been kind of hiding in a fog.

But now on to today’s post!!

…to be thrilled that I may have found a way to see Kensei at least once a month for under $200…. actually for under $20…. but I am seriously skeptical about it. Has anyone used Megabus.com? Is it a decent travel service?

…To desperately want this semester to be over.

… To be a little worried I haven't heard back from the universities I applied to, and therefore might be taking next semester off.

… To be dreading my Spanish class… we have a test EVERY single class from this week until the end of semester, that’s 4 weeks of straight tests, 2 tests a week!!

… To not be able to wait until thanksgiving, even though it means I’ll be eating turkey until Christmas because I am not good with only cooking for a small number of people

… To want today over with… to many tests, I have a 200 question test in history, a Spanish test, and a philosophy test on material we haven't finished yet... then I go to work!

What’s In My Purse??

So last year I stumbled on this amazing blog, Nice Girl Notes and she had a What’s in Your Bag link up going on so if you want to see what I had last year take a look!!!

So now for this years!

So this is my purse from the outside, fake leather and suede, nice and soft!

Everything from outside of my purse, and honestly it’s only neat because I JUST swapped purses, otherwise those 2 receipts in the corner would have multiplied and had many many babies.

This is my purse organizer, I have a pen, a digital thermometer a flashlight, my name tag, and an umbrella on the outside of it.

Inside is my wallet, two card holders and my exercise music holder.This holds various membership cards:

Ulta Member Card, Rite Aid card, Ritz Camera, Anna’s Linens, Sears and random card.

This one holds punch cards,

A full punch card to Which Which, and three full cards and two with just one stamp for Fruit Cup for my milk teas.

Then I’ve got a cvs bucks, a sally’s beauty coupon, a coffee, lunch and breakfast card for a bagel place and a buy 12 cookies as insomniac cookies punch card.

Inside the wallet I have no cash lol, my id, my school id, three debit cards and more membership cards, plus three Starbucks cards with less than a dollar on each, Sally’s beauty Club Card, Wal-Mart gift card, pet perks cards, another ulta card, Books a million card, and a card for movie gallery which I’m pretty sure went out of business 3 years ago…

Now the stuff ya’ll want to see lol

3 packs of gum, two packs of mints and one lone piece of Big Red.

Pantech Phone, phone charger, battery charger for camera, headphones, usb cord for mp3 player, and pink mp3player not shown lol I was listening to it.

Allergy meds, Band-Aids, Nyquil, and various other meds, and a bag with female products.

Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara, VS Love Spell Body Spray, 2 mini Perfume sprays, 2 Joyer lip treatments, EOS Lemon Lip Balm, NYC lip stain, Milani Flash stick, Hardy Candy gloss stick, copper eye liner, L'Oreal Lip gloss, Clear nail polish, and mirror.

Nope not done yet! Revlon Just bitten in Midnight, nail file, tweezers, soft lifts in Vanilla Mint, NYX Matte Lip color, black eyeliner, another L’Oreal Lip gloss and a Cover girl, (I think) Lipstick.

Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash deodorant, and a bottle of Bath and Body Works Charmed Life lotion.

and various hair ties, pens and a mostly empty bag of candy that needs refilling!!!

I got my package on Friday but couldn’t post until now! I LOVED IT!

I was actually a little nervous when I got home because the mailman, had placed the package on the step instead of the chair like he usually does and it was raining really hard, so the package had been in a puddle for who knows how long, but Amanda was really really smart and placed a perfect item on the end that was soaked:

A Halloween pumpkin towel!!! It soaked of most of the water that leaked through the box and is now nice and clean and decorating my kitchen!

I seriously think she was living in my head because I saw a similar garland the other day and almost got it!

Okay seriously? YUM!!! I LOVE Funfetti and wanted the Halloween kind! Super cute pumpkin salt and pepper shakers!

and the CANDLES!!! I love candles, anything that smells good, and I loved the holders she picked See how pretty they light up???

Okay Are You Kidding Me???

So I work in a hotel… I have established this. I also have a pet and I love my Penni Puppy more than anything, she is like a child to me. BUT I understand that sometimes I can’t bring her places with me and sometime I will have to pay a fee for her.

Some people are allergic to dogs, and some dogs have fleas. and most hotels don’t take pets, and if they do there is a weight limit.

We are not a high price hotel, we don’t offer breakfast, just coffee and juice, and that’s pretty much it. We do take pets, it’s $10 for a pet under 20 lbs. and $15 for a pet over 20lbs per pet per night.

So sometimes I find some of the phone calls I get funny.

like today for example,

Me: “Thank you for calling, how may I help you?”

Lady On The Phone (LOTP): “Ya’ll pet friendly?”

Me: “Yes Ma’am we are.”

LOTP: “There an extra fee?”

Me: “Yes Ma’am, how large is the pet?”

LOTP: “2 pets, both over 100lbs”

Me: "okay well pets over 20lbs are $15 per pet per night."

LOTP: "WHAT???? All you have to do is freaking vacuum. Why would you charge $30 per night? Would you charge for a 100lb kid???"

Me: “No ma’am but we do have a pet policy, because we must close the room down and deep clean incase of a guest with an allergy coming in.”

LOTP: “People aren’t allergic to pets this is bull!” CLICK

I was still a Yankee, even a damn Yankee… I was born in Ohio, and grew up in NY and OH until we moved down south.

I miss the fall… We don’t really get it down here.

Even though we had GREAT weather the other day, it’s back up into the 80s again.

I miss going apple picking. I miss the leaves changing… we don’t get leaves change here, its green and then bare there’s no pretty colors or crunchy piles to jump in.

The only good smells come from candles, which is why I LOVE them. They make my house smell like fall, like apple cider, and cinnamon, and just fall.

I’m Disappointed….

So I saw that they are making a movie out of one of my favorite books, and it occurred to me that I had not yet gotten the series.

So I decided that I would jump on the ereader bandwagon… which I have been staunchly refusing to join because I like books. But I bit the bullet and because amazon had a sale going on I bought a Kindle Touch.

Looks cute huh? well I was excited until I got the confirmation letter…. they aren’t shipping it out until AFTER November 30th!! That’s OVER two months! and it’s not even like it’s a new one, this is the 2nd generation one.

So I didn’t get to buy my eBook series like I wanted but I did go to Books A Million and 128 dollars later, (I got other stuff…) I was the proud owner of book one….

If you’ve not read this series or even just this book. I Highly recommend it! it’s a favorite of mine and now I’m desperately hoping to get the rest of the series soon.

It’s Finally Fall and a Possible Swap?

I know that it has been fall for a while now, and in fact today is October 1st which means that I’m a whole month late but honestly, you can’t blame me. The temperature where I live has been constantly in the upper 80s-90s. That’s not fall to me.

This is fall. Crisp air, jeans and scarves instead of shorts.

I lit my leaves candle from bath and body works again last night. I LOVE that smell. Its just apple cider and pumpkins, and happy.

Also I was thinking about something I did last year I participated in a recipe swap. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed it. Would anyone be interested in participating in one this year?

I make pumpkin cupcakes, apple muffins, pies and breads. Anything that I can I will bake in the fall. I just love the smell of fall baking!

So I am not here today. lol this is not a recording though! I am a member of 20 something bloggers, great place to be a member of! They have a thing they do every now and then where you swap blogs with someone for a day. Now my partner and I are a little late, but here is her post! Melissa is a great blogger, and I’ve loved reading her blog from the start of our swap! You should definitely check her out over at Wrong for all the Right Reasons! Good morning, Class. My name is Melissa and this is what I did with my summer vacation….Wait. Vacation. No I didn’t take one of those. I mean, I didn’t attend any of my grad classes. You see, class. I’m a graduate student which automatically means that all the fun is sucked out of my life for nine months of the year anyways. Then I spend the other three months trying to soak up as much free time as possible. I’m not bitter.

But really, I suppose I should be thankful I just get summers off. Well…if by off you mean working three jobs to pay for all the shoes I have, then yes. I had a few fun trips planned. But those didn’t really pan out. It mostly ended up being me working at my art museum job 5 days a week. Then cramming my 2^nd and 3^rd jobs in on the weekends.

In addition to hanging around Picasso all day, I began screening newborns ears at the hospital. It’s a process which sounds adorable, until you get spit up on. Less cute than the newborns, of course were the older Adults I taught as I taught them the importance of English Composition. They were only slightly more patient the newborns.

You see, I don’t mind working. I’m actually very good at it. But at some point I forgot to take a break this summer and the next thing I knew. I was purchasing my books for the fall semester. Bummer.

I study French. One of my goals is to teach English as a foreign language. I love everything about French Culture. And one of the sayings translated to English rings true. “Don’t live to work. Work to live.” It’s a saying I completely ignored this summer.

So in short class, I am cancelling you today and I am going to read a non-academic book , drink a glass of wine, and dance like nobody’s watching. Go do something fun today.

This is a Day to Remember…

“This Isn’t The Kind of History I Want to Be Present For” -Sarah Bunting.

I recently read this essay from Sarah Bunting, she was an eyewitness to this day 10 years ago… I can barely believe its been ten years, I was 14 years old when this happened; and now I’m 24, and I can still remember how I felt and what happened, I saw this status going around on Facebook; “If you asked me if I remembered what I did last Tuesday, I couldn't tell you. But if you asked me if I remembered what I did 10 years ago on Tuesday, September 11, 2001... I could tell you exactly what I was doing. Remember our fallen heroes and let's NEVER FORGET!!” This is how I pray that I will always feel.

America was united when that day happened to us 10 years ago, We wanted to be a force to be reckoned with. We wanted another thing like pearl harbor. Instead they told us, to go out and shop, to not let the terrorists make us afraid to be American. They were wrong. We were strong and united and sitting here today again watching the news I can’t agree more with the quote from Sarah Bunting’s essay. I did always want to be a part of history, but this is not what I was looking to be a part of, but I know I will never forget.

Once again, I sat at work this morning and watched the news, as they spoke and showed some of the old clips my eyes stung and my throat closed up and I flashed back to that morning…

I remember going to school and laughing as I joked with my friends.
I remember spending the first half of class gossiping and ignoring Mrs.. Tole who was desperately trying to teach us Sophomore English.
I remember glancing at the television in time to see the clock and counting the min until class was done when it suddenly became news and I watched in horror as one of the planes hit the tower.

When they had the moment of silence I felt a tear drip down my cheek as I remembered how I felt that day, I cried out and pointed at that television and then

I remember how no one breathed in that room as we watched the news Mrs.. Tole stopped teaching and we all had our eyes locked on that television set.

I held my friend’s hands in a tight grip and we all were praying that maybe it was like a horrible joke, or when they read the War of The Worlds and everyone thought It was real when it wasn’t.

I remember the bell for class change came and none of us moved until we were forced to, then we ran to Mrs.. Sansonetti's room.
I remember how I didn't like Mrs. Sansonetti at all and how she didn't like me any either, but when Megan mentioned wasn't my cousin in NYC she came over and hugged me just in case.

I still tear up when I think about the feeling in the pit of my stomach that day and the worry about my family.

We didn't have social studies that day, we watched the news, when the announcement came that the district was blocking every single outside channel because the "Images were to disturbing" I wanted to scream.

I still hate the fact that we were blocked out on what was going on because they were worried that we would worry, because it didn’t help any.

I remember we all stared at the clocks on the TV willing the news to come back the rest of the day.
That was the ONLY lunch where everyone was silent. There was no joking, or laughing, or talking, or food flying, there weren't even any whispers.
None of us knew what was happening. I remember going home and finding out my cousin was safe. I cried.
I cried because she was fine, and because so many people weren't.
I will never forget what I was doing that day, I will never forget how in that instant I felt the bottom of my stomach drop and I wanted to be able to fight and get even. Or how the next second I wanted to curl up and cry and pretend it never happened.
I will always remember how everyone banded together after that, how we were a united country, all colors, religions, creeds, we were all together and ready to fight.

I pray that I will always remember….

I had my first phone when I was 11, because I was alone after school, had to walk to Airforce’s school and pick him up and walk home, and no parents until after 7 pm.

But I think I won’t let my own kids get one until they are 13-16 and they earn it.

Sorry about the length I let go with out posting again. I have had a lot of things happen to me and decided to change something's. I will post more detailed on that later.

Class started again, I love two of my teachers and am iffy on two of them so we will see what happens there.

I joined a gym and went everyday for the first week, every other for the second and once last week… I need to go more often

I have had a lot of issues with work lately not, that I don’t like my job because I do, but I have a manager who tries to play you against coworkers, and can’t show up on time and I honestly think I might do a rant post on that later.

I was sooo looking forward to this again this year. I don’t know where my blogging mojo has disappeared to but I am hoping to get back into the swing of things!!

Okay so the introduction post. Hi! Ya’ll I’m Angel, well that’s not my real name but my nickname so I figured that it would be good for this when I started blogging.

I am a 24 year old college student and work full time at a hotel, (This is the third one from when I started my blog.) I have two younger siblings, Airforce who is 19 and Jujube who is 13. My mom is pretty much crazy, and My dad is amazing.

I want a large family, though birth or adoption. I have PCOS and was told that it would be very nearly impossible to have kids when I was 14 years old. I still want them, though and will try once I am married.

I am never far from my phone, or my purse, there is a joke among my friends that I take it everywhere, I even had it when I broke my leg in the bathroom!

1.) What's your favorite memory from Summer 2011?

I honestly didn’t do much this summer, but I am going with my favorite memory was meeting my Pink Swap partner ATLYankeeBelle, We have been pen pals from the time of the swap and it was awesome to meet her in person!

2.) What's your dream summer vacation?

Oh… wow I have sooo many, although I am going to go with a basic one, I want 2 (or 3) weeks on a beach, and a hotel with a pool and a/c in the rooms. I want to come back relaxed with a golden tan!

3.) What's your favorite thing to do in the summer?

Swim… I LOVE to swim, If I could live in the water I would, Ocean, Pool… the only thing I Won’t swim in is a lake. unfortunately I don’t have a pool anymore and the oceans a 2 hour drive so with work I haven’t been able to swim much this year.

4.) What's your "blog goal" for 2011?

To post more… I’ve been soooo slack recently!

I didn’t have any creative process when naming my blog honestly:

I was watching Confessions of A Call Girl (with Rose from Doctor Who) and just finished Reading Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber when I started blogging, I liked the way that it sounded and added my nickname Angel in and that’s how Confessions of A College Angel was born!

But I think with out my blog being what it is I could have never done confessions posts like this one!

What Happened To Manners??

Sometimes I really HATE my job… Well not the job itself but the people I deal with, the rude obnoxious people who think because I work in customer service I am here to take their crap and do nothing… and for the most part that IS my job.

Sometimes I get people Who’s kids make me want to smack the parents… Then groups of annoying people… and sometimes it’s a full moon. But I mostly deal with it with a smile on my face. Tonight I am angry though…

I had a guy come to the desk for 2 rooms, he handed me his drivers license, and I checked the reservations, he didn’t have one, so I check the guest history and no dice. Then he says I have a card on file… now there are only 2 ways hotels will let you use a credit card that is not present, you can book through a prepaid site like expedia, hotels.com, priceline, orbitz, cheaptickets, or others of their ilk, (personally they are NOT worth it)

You can sign up for 3rd party authorization, which is when you fax us an authorization letter and a copy of your Credit card and ID and we keep it on file for when you want the card charged… it literally takes 10 seconds!!

This guy literally cussed me out because I would not charge a card, I did not have a way of verifying because he told me too. I have to follow protocols people!!

And another thing….

Hotels have a Check In and Check Out time for a reason, it is not just to decorate the pretty paper on the desk, or because we hate you and don’t want you to stay with us, or because we like to see you squirm.

It is so that the rooms can be properly cleaned and made ready for the next guest. This does not mean at 11 am you can come in, have me tell you that I will not have any rooms until 3pm and then go outside and follow my housekeeper around until she’s done with a room, and walk up to the desk and expect me to give it to you… My head housekeeper has to check it, and my maintenance man has to fix any problems we may have had. If you sit there and pout and whine like a two year old and throw a fit because I tell you to wait, then you will get on my nerves, and that makes me have a worse day.

Sorry for all the venting today. I honestly have not been having a good week and today just set me off. I will post more often I promise.

When you have kids at a hotel, please remember that the front desk is not your babysitter. I understand that some times you have to wait on your ride, this doesn’t mean you can stand outside and let your 3 under 5 year old children run around my lobby, and break things, dump things and lick things. Nor does it mean that you can allow your children to run from the lobby into the parking lot and into the VERY busy street that is fed by an Interstate EXIT RAMP.

I have other things I need to do besides chase after YOUR children and tell them to put that down, or please don’t dump that.

Then after I have watched your children for two hours, and feel like telling you that my rate when I used to babysit was 5 an hour per child so you now owe me $30. I don’t need to clean up all the messes that your child made so that my lobby looks presentable again….

I want to stress I LOVE kids and I know that sometimes kids misbehave, but SERIOUSLY??

So I thought and thought and thought about this one, Batman because well he’s awesome? Green Lantern because of the magic glowing ring? So I decided on two, Because I couldn’t pick just one,

First is a conventional Hero-

Batman, I mean he has no powers, no alien backstory, and still fights crime and looks good doing it!!

I mean Come on he’s cute, smart and rich a girl wouldn’t have to settle for him!!

And my second Favorite Superhero isn’t quite a hero exactly…. but It’s Doctor Who… I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, I love The Doctor, and I will admit to bawling like an infant in a ball at the end of season 2. He’s smart, dangerous, funny, and just seems like the type to draw you in.. I think I can honestly say if the Tardis showed up in front of me and The Doctor asked me to go with him, I would in a second, a millisecond, I don’t even think I’d think twice.

Okay Random fact time!

1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read, if you saw my Vlog then you know about my book obsession, I honestly think as long as I had a never ending supply of books, I could exist without almost anything!

2. I have two favorite seasons and they are my favorites for the same yet vastly different reasons. I love Winter and Summer. I love the snow and the ice in winter, and the Christmas decorations. yes I am the girl who’s house is decorated on the day after thanksgiving and has been playing Christmas music from November 1st. But then I love the sun of summer and the pools and swimming and just general relaxedness.

3. I used to bite my nails, I still catch myself every now and then, but I have found the best way to stop biting it to paint them a different color EVERY day, and anytime I get a chip.

4. which leads into this one I have a slight obsession with nail polish.

5. I love candles that smell, I will burn them all the time, but I don’t like the baked goods smells.

6. I will not watch horror flicks, or movies about zombies or giant bugs, or movies like final destination.

7. Even though I am going to school for photography and psychology and I want to maybe work in a practice or own a gallery one day, I have always wanted to be a mom, more than anything.

8. except when I was younger when I wanted to be a princess, although I wanted to be a princess with kids so I guess that counts!

9. I am an early bird, my natural clock will wake me up at 5-6 am

10. but I can usually go right back to sleep with no problem if I’m still tired.

11. I know MANY police officers because of my job, I see them at least 2 times EVERY Saturday, because we have to call them for something.

12. I do love my job even though I gripe about it

13. I desperately want to move to Memphis.

14. I love to bake and cook more than anything

15. I can always get people over to my house by tossing an I’m cooking (insert food here) into the conversation.

WWTK and Loss of a computer

I am participating in WWTK but I wanted to let you all know quickly…. I killed my computer, I honestly have NO clue what happened but I had to completely reinstall everything!!! and on top of that I lost all my pictures from the last year because of this… I know I should have backed them up but honestly I never did because what could happen to my computer right??

so on to this weeks WWTK

1.} What must you do before you go to bed at night?

hmm before bed every night/day (depending on work) I have to spray my bed heavily with Bath and Body works Stress Relief, I tried the sleepy spray- doesn’t work only that spray works…. which is why I have like 10 bottles sitting on my bookshelf and M is always saying she’s jealous of them!

2.} What is one thing you must snack on at the theater?

Coke with no ice, and a thing of popcorn, extra butter and salt, and a box of M&Ms mixed in… the chocolate every other bite is my favorite thing about the movies.

3.} Before going on vacation what must you do?

I don’t go on vacations often, usually if I do go anywhere its to Charleston, Myrtle Beach or NY with my family, or to see Kensei, so I guess wait until the last possible second to pack? yup that’s me the queen of procrastination.

4.} What is one thing you must do every day?

I honestly have to talk to Kensei every day! lol no really I have to brush my teeth and drink a glass/bottle of coke for my caffeine intake

5.} Is there something you do that must be done in a particular order?

hmmm honestly can’t think of anything, although I am sure if I did it in a different order it would bother me but I’ve never tried any other orders lol.

Hmmmmm my super power---- I’ve actually thought about this before, and I don’t know if I could just pick one… so I am going to cheat slightly, and pick one active and one non-active power.

I’d like telepathy, to see what other people think, and I would like the power to freeze things, not like ice cubes but like frozen time like Piper had on Charmed.

{2} What would be your first frivolous purchase if you were awarded a million dollars tomorrow?

this one isn’t easy either lol I can think of lots of things but I could need all of them, sooo frivolous things…. I would take a trip to NYC and go shopping!!

{3} What would be the hardest current luxury for you to give up?

My phone…. I would die with out my phone….

{4} If you were given a choice between being given great wisdom and great wealth, which would you choose?

Airforce Has A New Girl!!!!

Staycation

While I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to go on a nice vacation, to the beach (3 hours away) or the Mountains (4 hours away) with the climbing gas prices, hotel fees, and not being at work it just won’t work for me, so when I saw the Staycation Swap over at ATLYankee Belle’s blog I knew I had to sign up!

So first thing is our ideal staycation:

I am a bookworm, so for me the best thing I could do would be a nice night in, I love smells, lol Candles and Baths and relaxing, while I’d love a spa day, I think a nice smelly candle (or three lol ) some soft music and a good book and I’d be relaxed and content for a wonderful staycation!

I Jiggle But Not As Much As I Used To Week 2

Okay so having spilled my guts for the first time EVER last week and actually typed my weight online, I didn’t do as much as I wanted to this week, I planed to do at least part of a DVD daily, but Honestly I slept in more than I should have, but I have worked on my eating, I ate healthy almost every day this week, and have made myself several frozen lunches to bring to work and eat! So I know you all want to know the scale I was actually able to lose a pound, not as much as I’d like to have but I have been working on cutting back my soda’s and replacing them with flavored water or tea so maybe a better number next week!

I honestly have had a bad week on this though, but it has made me more determined… My fiancée Kensei made a comment that really upset me. I’ve always been curvy like I said in my previous Challenge post, but when I was posting pictures of myself and my family from a beach trip the other week, he made a comment about was I sure I wanted to because it looked like I had gained a LOT of weight… it really upset me, and I am still honestly a little po’ed about it, but he doesn’t see anything wrong with the comment.

Weight Loss Challenge

This is going to be hard for me, I hope I can keep up with it but I need to do this not only for my health but for my own self confidence, I used to like the way I looked, I wasn’t to thin, but I wasn’t fat either, I was pleasantly curvy, and I liked it. Then I Broke My Leg, Went to the ER, (part 3 here) and spent a YEAR on the couch recuperating. By the end of that year, I wasn’t pleasantly curvy anymore, but it didn’t stop there, I picked up a lot of bad habits being out for a year, and haven’t managed to break them yet.

I am actually really nervous about this because I have never put my weight and everything OUT there before… and I am scared that I won’t lose any weight at all…. but here goes….

I should weigh 107-145…. I don’t….

Hi my name is Angel and I weight 269…. gosh I feel really bad…. that’s a 46.2 BMI that’s not good at all… My goal is to get to that target range, but first I want to work on getting to where I need to be, so my first goal is to get to 200 and then work down….

I have Jillian’s 30 day shred, but can’t get past easy and a nice collection of exercise DVDs.. so that’s what I’ll be doing, as well as maybe trying to get up before it hits 90 degrees here, (so like 5 before the suns up) and running/walking the track behind my house.

I don’t have a diet, exactly I work crazy hours but I am going to try to stop my munching when I am bored/emotional'/stressed and cut back my soda’s to one glass a day and then one a week.

I had SOOOO Much fun doing the Swap, even with the snafu's that happened during shipping, I LOVED it!!

My swap partner and I actually were REALLY close to each other and she picked some amazing things!

Okay so the postal service opened my box a little for me…. yeah that’s how it arrived, but Aubrey was amazing in the way she packed everything!!!Look at that pretty goodness???

It felt like she REALLY knew me because I got nail polish and a pedicure set, and two magazines and lip gloss, I loved EVERYTHING and I hope she liked what she got as well!!!

I almost went private because of that, but I have made so many friends because of this blog that I didn't want to let one person, I don't like spoil it for me ya know?

I woke up this morning at 7 and yelled at my father to turn off, or at least turn down the TV. I had no clue that what was going on was going on until almost 8 when I finally got out of bed to go turn it down myself and watched in horror as the first video clips of Japan came on. Then I heard the News about Hawaii and California, I know people there so I franticly called until I got answers…. and then I thought about the people who are going to call their loved ones, their friends, and family and not get an answer… and my heart goes out to them.

Lent begins tomorrow, I am still not sure what I am giving up, I am mostly leaning toward cutting down on sodas, (2 a day max) and also giving up like really fast food (McDonalds, burger king etc.,) I can’t give up all fast food because if I forget my lunch when I go to work ( which happens more than I’d like) I won’t have anything to eat at all.

What are you all giving up? Do you do Lent? My friend Shan made me smile today because she responded to my frantic what should I give up Facebook post with Smoking, it should be easy because I don’t smoke.

I am going to NY soon, I can’t wait I really miss my family and even though there is no one left on my moms side I am going to see if maybe we can visit their graves (morbid I know) but they were the main family I was close to.

how long have you been together?

Kensei and I started dating when I was 14 almost 15, and he was 18, We started dating officially when I was 15 years old, Neither one of us can remember our EXACT anniversary so we decided one year that It would be Halloween, So as of October 31st 2011 We will have been together for 10 years.

how often do you see each other?

Not as much as I would like, We try to manage at least 2 visits a year of two to three weeks, if not more, but the past to years it’s been only one visit of a week or so. I visit him more than he comes down here. The last time he came here was when I was 17, my parents kicked him out and told him not to contact me again… (see how that worked?? lol)

are you totally exclusive or do you "date" other people?

We are completely and totally exclusive, I don’t believe that people who “date” other people are actually dating, or if they are then they are cheating on each other, I am VERY old fashioned that way. I get a lot of people that ask me How I can Trust him because he’s in an other state, and don’t I know guys have needs, etc. things like that, but I do trust him, and I respond with the same answer to all of those questions. If I can do it, then why should I expect him not to?

where do you see your relationship in 1 year from now?

In one year? Hopefully I will be in TN with Kensei, but I have been unfortunately working on that for a while and it has yet to happen, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

Wow! What a Weekend!!

I confess that M might have gotten a bit more upset with him than she should have because of what he did.

I Confess that when T had her daughter at 5:28 am I was so amazed and happy I barely rested at all today!!

Things are fixed!!!

So my car is fixed! When they installed the new alternator they put to much stress on a belt and replaced the belt (for free!!! But I think its mostly because I was crying) I didn’t get much done today that I would have liked because I had a lot of things to do that I didn’t get to do yesterday.

and we started talking about how I was almost Lil Red for Halloween last year and that he was playing an RPG with his friends and Little Red is kicking their butts, which I find hilarious!

I have been thinking today that even though I was born in the north, (and lived there for a while) I might have been born a belle, because as we all know Southern Belles are born not Made.

So I pulled up some of the golden rules of being a Belle and compared myself to them.

First:

A Southern Belle’s Ten Golden Rules

1) Never serve pink lemonade at your Junior League committee meetings. It has communist undertones.

I am not going to do these in constitutive days but I do think that the challenge is worth touching on. So here we go…

My current relationship….

Well might as well start at the beginning, Kensei and I met by accident, he was actually dating my friend, Meg and I had known each other from middle school, and she introduced me and Kensei, we talked a lot online, and he was in TN with his family.

They had an odd relationship. broke up once a week, and then back together by the next day. I usually talked to both of them at least once a day. I became good friends with Kensei. So when they had their official final breakup I was sad. I had developed a crush on him and would never have asked him out because well ya just don’t do that.

Meg actually hooked us up and well I liked him so I went with it.. Yes Kensei is an internet boyfriend but I do love him. I have been with him for several years now… almost 10 and well I am not a little girl anymore ya know?

We do have our ups and downs, I have called friends up in tears because we got into fights and I have called them up over joyed because of good news, but I do know I love him and as soon as I can complete the move I will be up there in TN with him.

First: I GOT A CAR!!!!!! This is my new (kinda) baby, Her name is Sophie, and I already love her lots.

Harrison Ford… Han Solo and Indiana Jones, What more can a girl want? I fell in love with Han Solo at a young age, and Harrison Ford can still make my heart melt, so he is definitely one!

Nicholas Cage- again bad boy and he just does something more me, although I will admit I like his shaggy scruffy look best.

Mark Valley- or Christopher Chance from Human Target. He is smart and sexy and the push you down on the floor and have his way kinda guy, but also a gentleman… I would let him protect me any day of the week.

Brad Pitt from Oceans or Mr and Mrs Smith, I like the devil may car attitude and that whole I’ll do anything streak… and even though that’s five I gotta toss one more in…

Dialect Vlog

Still a little upset but I do have good news

So I wanted to thank the people that left comments on my last post, I really needed to get out the emotions that I was feeling but I was honestly very worried about posting it on my blog because I still have this feeling in the back of my head that I am not being a good person because of my reaction to the situation and how I felt and still feel about it.

I did get some good news Airforce got his school money and after he buys himself a car if he has any left over he will let me borrow and pay him back so I will be saving extra hard for that as well.

I needed a pick my up today so I went to one of my favorite places and took a picture for my 365, if your interested stop on over there and take a look.

and then to make myself feel better I signed up for a Valentines Swap so hopefully I will get in!!!

I will keep you all updated and again I wanted to thank those who left positive reactions and made me feel a little better on that last post.

Trying Not To Cry

Quick Warning…. This post is to get my emotions out there, If you want to be mean DO NOT COMMENT.. also I do use bad words… something I do not usually do so if that offends you don’t read please.

So the day started out great. I wen tout last night with M, we had dinner and then went to karaoke, I had so much fun, didn’t sleep all night.

Then M came to my work this morning to keep me company and herself awake and things were going great until my phone rang.

It was my mother…. now I love my mom… I honestly, truly, really do LOVE her… I just don’t really LIKE her… Our relationship has never been very good. But things had been better since she moved in with her new boyfriend… kinda.

My mother lies a lot… I mean a whole lot, she also “Borrows” money from people’s wallets and other things, which is why when she told me that the money my Papa had left me when he passed was almost gone because my Uncle, (Who had just died) spent it I was skeptical to say the least, apparently out of the 5 thousand I had been left only 1,500 was there. but I was okay with that I can get a decent car for that price… in fact I’ve found one that looks great for 1300…

So I was all set to go talk to this guy about that car today when my mom called me at work.. she told me that she needed the money for hospital bills, because she has tumors in her uterus and they might be cancerous and if they aren’t removed then she’ll die. Now my mom is a very dramatic person, so I only believe half of what she says usually, but my papa died from brain tumors, and my grandmother (her mom) died of cancer so it is plausible.. and what kind of person, and daughter would I be if I didn’t let her use the money? She could be telling the truth for once… but what if she’s not? What if she just wants the money again like usual? She has taken so much money from me over the years whether by asking or “borrowing” that I just don’t know.

I am letting her have the money of course, but I feel betrayed and hurt and I shouldn’t feel this way… I should be worried about my mom and I honestly can’t even work up the worry right now… because I don’t know if it’s true…

God I sound like a selfish bitch…

anyways I apologize for the rant, and selfishness and bitchyness of this post… I will try to be back to my upbeat self tomorrow.

I had a really bad day yesterday, for a lot of reasons. There are so many things that I want to have happen but just seem to things to fall right.

I almost got a nice little car the other day, but because I had to wait until the banks opened to get all the cash I didn’t get it. and all the others I have been able to afford aren’t even really worth looking at! I have no idea what I am going to do… I need a car and I need it soon, but things just don’t seem to be working well.

I am also having a lot of problems getting back into school, I graduated with my Assoc, this past spring and haven’t been able to get back into classes since… I can’t really go to University of Memphis until I get a car and move, so I just don’t know what to do..
